Eliza Kindziuk (born 1991) – choreographer, dance pedagogue , dancer, performer.
Her first steps in dance, she took at the age of 7 in the School of Caro Dance under the direction of Iwona Maria Orzełowska. For the first ten years, she has won many Polish, European and World Championships in various categories as a soloist, in duos and formations (IDO Federation). In the same time, she used to dance in the productions of the Caro Dance Theatre, like ‘We are’, ‘Delta 12’, ‘Carmen’, ‘Romeo & Juliet’, etc. and perform in several countries, e.g. Italy, France, Germany, Sweden, USA, Canada, Russia, Repubilc of Korea, etc..
In 2009, she was one of the finalists of the 4th edition of TV program ‘So you think you can dance!’ broadcasted by TVN, where she used to perform many different dance styles and reached TOP 8. Since 2012, she has been a licensed Jazz Dance Teacher (IKK, Mazovian Center for Culture and Art in Warsaw) and in 2013 she completed her BA in Tourism and Recreation at the Academy of Physical Education in Warsaw, Poland (specialization - Fitness).
From 2013 till 2017, she has spent abroad finishing her BA in Contemporary Dance and Dance Pedagogy at the Austrian University – Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität in Linz, while making an international student exchange at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt (Main), Germany, and her internship at the German WEE Dance Company Gerhart Hauptmann-Theatre Görlitz-Zittau under the direction of Marko E. Weigert and Dan Pelleg.
From September 2017 until December 2018, Eliza was a Deputy Artistic Director of Caro Dance Theatre in A. Meżerycki Centre of Culture and Art Theatre Stage of Siedlce City (Poland). She produced and choreographed with Sebastian Piotrowicz a full-evening piece ‘The Room’, considering the subject of home and family, all based on contemporary dance. During her work in theatre, she as well organised many international events like ‘Art in Motion’ with Seoul Dance Company from Republic of Korea or International Festival of Jazz & Contemporary Dance with CODARTS University from Rotterdam, Netherlands. She as well resumed and prepared choreographies as: ‘After Before’ by Maciej Kuźmiński, ‘Nutckracer’, ‘Romeo & Juliet’ by Iwona Orzełowska. Meanwhile she danced in some of the pieces of the company (‘The Room’, ‘Give us Father our daily bread’). In September 2018, she was leading and coordinating tournee of ‘After Before’ choregraphed by Maciej Kuźmiński around 10 polish cities.
In March 2019 on the Contemporary Dance Theater Festival ‘Sfera Ruchu’, Nowa Sól, Poland, there was a premiere of her solo performance ‘SEE ME’. The choreography took part in the Netherlands Choreography Competition in Haarlem, Netherlands (June 2019) as well as performed on Lisbon Dance Platform in Lisbon, Portugal (July 2019), Istanbul Fringe Festival on BOA Stage & Akbank Sanat, Turkey (September 2019), Focus & Friends Dance Evening, Warsaw, Poland (October 2019), Xposition ‘O’ Contemporary Dance Fiesta in Singapore (October 2019).
In 2020, ‘SEE ME’ will be performed on ‘Evening of Little Forms’ in Center of Theater & Dance in Warsaw, Poland (March) , Festival ‘Kalejdoskop’ in Białystok, Poland (Mai) and in Ireland on Laois Dance Platform as a part of an Artistic Incentive Award, which Eliza won at Lisbon Dance Platform 2019 (April).
Since January 2020, Eliza has co-founded the UNITED LIMBS collective, which aims to promote broadly understood movement and contemporary dance. So far, they have managed to organize several nationwide projects such as:
- ‘United Limbs Intensive’ - contemporary dance workshops,
- ‘United Limbs Jamming’ - dance jam with live music
- ‘United Limbs Screening’ - online-library of video recordings that contains the works of Polish and foreign contemporary choreographers / directors,
- ‘United Limbs Celebration’ - an event organized for an International Dance Day.
